“Wow!” I said in an excited voice as we walked past a gate.
“Crunch, crunch” as we walked on sticks and rocks.
“Fantastic!” as we walked passed Maori carving. I couldn't wait to look at the Maori cannon and the enormous holes where the Maori and British had war at Ruapekapeka Pa. When we got there the people jumped on the cannon.
Whaea Hetaraka was talking about the pa and were you’re allowed to go and I was the one who was taking photos of the enormous holes some were huge and some were little holes. Some people where picking up sticks and acting like they were in the war. It was funny when some people were pretending to die. When me and Tui were running down the deep hill, I couldn't stop because I was going to fast. Instead, I tripped up to stop. Well, I was laughing because Tui was running too fast when he fell in a little hole.
On the bus I was thinking to myself, “That was an amazing hour at Ruapekapeka Pa. When we had to go we had to put the sticks where they were to show respect.
