10 PIN BOWLING.

In the first round, I got a strike and then some spares. My mum Shirley, Isabella, Brodi, Braahm and Mrs Norrie were cheering for me.The Onerahi school kids were getting all happy because they got a strike.

We had lunch. Hurray! We came 3rd. Next, we came first. We got 1 strike in the first game. Just before we had lunch, I went to play an arcade game where you can win balls, Smurf toys and stuffed animals. I had a sausage roll and my mum brought everyone in my group, including Reyne, a gingerbread man, even though Reyne was with Te Rina and Tyler. It was so delicious. The gingerbread man was gingery with terrific pink icing. He had chocolate buttons. I started getting full.

We reached our second game. We were on lane 14 and were still playing Onerahi. Isabella got a strike.
"Yay!" I said,  "Brodi just got a strike!" I got some spares and Braahm got a strike while we were playing and enjoying ourselves. Later, when my mum brought us drinks, we all drank fast because we were all really thirsty. After a couple of spares we played lots of arcade games. Mrs Norrie ordered hot chips for us, but I was too full.  We just needed some strikes and some spares on our last game.

Our group screams were the loudest in the last round. I got lots of spares but I wasn't as good as the first round. When we finished the last game, we all had a break and then we had to go and sit down in our tribes. They chose the best group name. Ours was the Whau Strikers, but the Onerahi team won. Their group name was Strikasauraus.

Onerahi people came first and second and Whau Valley Group 3 came third. Finally, it was time to go home.

Kiwi North Museum

At the museum I saw many new things. At the museum everything is special to them like special stone, bone and wood. They have guns and very big waka too. Everyone loved the museum. It seemed really special to them. When we all went to the museum, we swapped teams and we went to the animal place and I saw lot of really unusual animals. I saw a kiwi and one bird. It was very interesting at the museum. I really liked it. The best part was making the bread. We had to put flour in it and there was a special thing that they put in a jar.

"Great", I said as we got to the Kiwi house. What an amazing place. Jerry from fantastic Kiwi North showed us some lizards. It was as bright as in the room.
"I'm getting really sore eyes", I said to Isabella.
First we walked in to this room were there were kiwis. I gazed at them and they gazed back. It felt like I had lazar beam eyes. Jerry started laughing and then me and Isabella started laughing. We were talking about the things we saw at the museum. The morpork made a piercing noise. The noise hurt my ears.
Next, we saw the kiwis on the security cameras. We saw an enormous kiwi. It looked like the kiwi was bigger than the door. It looked like a mother but Jerry said they were brother and sister. I got a creepy shock and I also got a shock when Jerry told us that the lizards were brother and sister. That's why they had separate cages. I was looking develishly at the lizards and looking fiercely at the kiwis. We got to see a lizard called Fat Albert.
After that we walked over to where these black things were. There were dark brown ones they looked really scary Jerry said that if we wanted one we would have to get rid of our cats. By Sheridyn

THE WAKAS

Excited, Rooms 11and 12 and 15 went to town basin to see some waka. Walking down there, it felt so, so

tiring . Once we got there, I was so happy .

We had lunch .Then we went to see some wakas at the town basin.

Whaea’s dad showed us some of his creations. Then we had some more lunch .

Sadly, after that, we went in the bus to go back to school.

Laughter from the senior syndicate deafened my ears. As we marched along town basins foot path we were surrounded by bright colourful gardens.Crush! The stones roared as we walked along the gravel track to whaeas dads workshop.

”Wow” I said in amazement.Right in front of my eyes was a colossal waka. On the sides of it were these delicately carved maori pattern and paua shells were used for the tikis eyes.I wandered to my right and there were these dark coloured weapons. One of the weapons tips was as sharp as a brand new machete.

I kept hunting through the shed for more interesting things and each step I saw something new. Every where I looked was a Maori pattern,Maori patterns were every where.Even the extension cords were tied in a maori pattern, and lots of this was done by whaea hetarakas dad.I was so glad that I remembered my permission slip.

Wow”, I said as I was strolling up to the stone waka.

“Oh No”, I said as I was getting scared because I was going into the middle.

“Ha ha”, I said. I told my friends that I was going to paddle the waka to America.

“This is fun”, I said. I was so happy.

Whaea Hetaraka,Mrs Norrie and Mr Baker were all taking photos.

When Mr Baker was taking photos, I was pretending to be paddling the waka to America.

Mr Baker was laughing at me and then I started laughing.

I told all my friends that if I had to give the trip a score out of 15, I would give it a 15 out of 15 and then all my friends laughed and then I laughed it was so funny.

“Ahhh!” I said as I fell over. It felt like I was slipping over the north pole ice, then everybody started laughing. Mrs Norrie was watching everyone trying to run up the stone waka and Mr Baker was watching people run down the stone waka. Only some people made it right to the top. Everyone was trying their hardest.

The stone waka is a creation that whaea’s dad made. It looks like a real waka but its made out of stone. Whaea said that her dad also made the wave. The whole name of the creation is called the waka and the wave.

I really enjoyed playing on the waka and pretending that I was paddling to America. The other thing I really enjoyed was when I got to take some photos of the waka and the wave. The wave is also made out of stone.

I had the best day ever!

“All right kids go line up next to that pole”.”Sophy and I were the first in line, the line was as bigger than a stretched snake. The Senior syndicate gradually started to walk out of our beautiful school. The cars zoomed past as we walked past the shops. We came to a halting stop. I had just realised that we had come to a crossing.

The cars zoomed past while the senior syndicate was waiting patiently to cross the road. As we started to walk again, I looked back and I saw the enormous line that followed Sophy and I.

“Yay, we are all most there”, said Sophy in a high tone . I cannot wait until I can eat my lunch.Wow look at the big play ground,I wish that was in my back yard!

Would Sophy ever stop talking?

“Look, Mrs Norrie there is a beautiful grassy spot near the waterfront.Let’s sit there to eat. I had a scrumpcious lunch - a muesli bar and some crackers for morning tea.

The senior syndicate went to Whaea Maia’s dad’s work shop. I was excited to see all the stuff that our syndicate saw. The giant whale tooth was bigger than my teeth.

I was excited. Me and Jhordyn were going to the town basin. I felt happy. When we got there we the town basin looked fantastic. We saw a normal waka and lots of carvings . When we saw the stone waka it looked amazing. But the thing I didn’t like was the walk to the town basin. The thing I liked was to have a ride on the bus back to school. When we got back I thought about me in the waka, paddling. We had 30 minutes of play. I liked it when we saw the stone waka and the normal waka.

Town Basin

Four in a half weeks ago the senior syndicate went on a trip to town basin park. When we left the school I felt nervous about the waka.

When we started to stroll and got to the corner I started to get thirsty again. When we got there we had a tiny bit of lunch, but then Whaea Hetaraka came around and snatched us and took all seniors to the carving shed!
